Sales Executive

A distinguished set of founders and successful serial entrepreneurs have lined-up well-known financial backers to pursue an emerging market with considerable upside potential.  Seeq is now searching for one or more ‘world-class’ sales professionals to play a critical role in the growth of the company.  We just completed another round of venture capital and we are well-funded for the foreseeable future and sales growth is starting to take-off.

The ideal Sales Executive should be an experienced, talented team player who will partner with the founding team to develop customers for acquiring launch bundles of products and services that evolve into enterprise-wide software subscriptions.

The target customers generally are plant managers, operations directors, senior process engineers, continuous improvement engineers, or sometimes directors of analytics or data architectures.  Our sales generally are to the OT (Operational Technology) side of the business, but we will need to coordinate with the IT side of the business as Seeq's footprint within the organization grows.

The founding team prefers to emphasize talent, capacity to contribute, and passion for the problem solution over specific experience or background requirements, but even so, the ideal candidate is likely to have one or more of the following characteristics:

  • Good educational background in one or more related disciplines and may have completed pertinent graduate work.
  • Customer relationships within and experience selling into relevant industries such as oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, power and utility, manufacturing, smart grid, alternative energy, medical, and etc.
  • Familiarity with and experience selling database products such as historians, MRO, ERPs, or PLMs.
  • Familiarity with and experience selling Business Intelligence (BI) tools into corporate environments.
  • Previous experience and success within the sales organization of an IT global solutions provider (e.g., IBM, HP, Oracle, Accenture, and etc.)
  • Recognized as a top performer that generally meets or exceeds aggressive quotas.
  • While motivated by quarterly performance targets, also knows how to develop customers for the long-term and is effective at setting expectations sufficiently low so as to position the company for future success (does not over-promise).
  • Effective at establishing excellent relationships throughout the customer organization that can be leveraged throughout the product and service lifecycle.
  • Exploits excellent communication skills and creative insights within multi-disciplinary team environments to contribute to exciting levels of shared vision and productivity.
  • Able to translate a combination of customer-stated and customer-implied needs into coherent inputs to the software product planning and marketing teams.
  • Comfortable working with product development teams and arranging productive meetings between company’s and customer’s technical teams.
  • Experience working in a virtual team environment.

We are seeking Sales Executives at all levels.  Sales executives will have a base salary and commission plan, and participate in the company’s bonus plan.  Sales Executives will also be issued equity (stock options) based upon his/her expected contribution to the pace of success.  

We are organized as a virtual company with a headquarters in Seattle, WA USA.  We use state-of-the-art online collaboration tools for development and corporate functions.  Employees can be based virtually anywhere as long as they have access to a good office environment, high connectivity, and willingness to travel for customer visits or trade shows, typically 2 or 3 times per month.
