Account Managers / Account Executives - Europe

Seeq is searching for one or more Account Managers or Account Executives to play a crucial role in the growth of the company as it serves process industries. In fact, we are seeking talented people with excellent technical skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.  These roles would be based in Europe but work remotely from locations that support travel across the continent.

In our internal parlance, Account Managers work with our clients to make sure their use of our software and services exceeds their expectations.  Our Account Managers will be capable of being trained to use our tools to a power-user status, could assist with training and problem solving, but are mostly superlative at organizing and mangaing tasks to help customers create value with Seeq.  Our customers are within industrial process segments that collect and use large amounts of sensor data like oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, chemical, energy, power, food processing, and etc.

Account Managers will typically manage 25 to 30 accounts across a variety of sectors and geographies.  Contacts are mostly virtual but some travel and face-to-face connections will be necessary.  Account Executives will team with our Sales Executives and will be assigned 1 or more strategic account critical to Seeq's continued growth.  Account Executives have skills developing and growing complex, multi-location accounts.

Most meetings and interactions are virtual but some travel will be required for face-to-face meetings.   Account Managers will be responsible customer satisfaction, renewal, and growth.  Account Managers will also be responsible for assuring that any services provided to the customer are effective.  The prime goals of account management are to:  grow the usage; get the customer solving valuable problems; get the customer to recognize the value; grow the account economics; and, become a strategic partner.

Account Managers/Executives need to ultimately to understand the existing industrial software paradigm and have a passion for disrupting it with Seeq’s state-of-the-art tools. Ultimately we are about helping our customers drive down costs in energy, food, medicines, and other consumable products to make the world a better place.

Seeq prefers to emphasize talent, capacity to contribute, and passion for the problem solution over specific experience or background requirements, but even so, the ideal candidate is likely to have most or many of the following characteristics:

  • Good educational background in one or more related disciplines and may have completed pertinent graduate work.   Example technical disciplines might be Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Math, Data Analytics, and similar fields.   Other fields could include business, marketing, and MIS.
  • Previous experience working as an engineer involved with analyzing time-history and process data in one of the industrial segments important to Seeq.  Experience using enterprise historians (OSIsoft PI, PHD, Proficy, IP-21, Delta-V, Wonderware, etc.) is particularly valuable.
  • You are regarded by your colleagues as one that ‘adds energy’ to everyone and every project you touch.  You enjoy dissecting and explaining complex tasks.
  • Exploits excellent communication skills and creative insights within multi-disciplinary team environments to contribute to exciting levels of shared vision and productivity.
  • Enjoys customer interactions and solving customer problems.  Able to translate a combination of customer-stated and customer-implied needs into a coherent needs documents for use by software development team.
  • Youv've carried sales quota before for new sales and/or renewals.
  • Enjoys working with the latest software products and tools solving real-world business and industrial challenges.
  • Your are experienced in working and being successful in a virtual team environment.

This position will be issued equity (stock options) based upon his/her expected contribution.  We are organized as a virtual company with a headquarters in Seattle, WA.  We use state-of-the-art online collaboration tools for development and corporate functions.  Employees can be based virtually anywhere as long as they have access to a good office environment, high-bandwidth connectivity, and willingness to travel for team link-ups several times a year for a few days as well as to customer sites for 2-day visits about once per month.
